Betrayal

This pit was built for men to prove themselves. There are two platforms in this structure with a pit between them. A man could prove himself by jumping from one platform to another. If he missed the platform, a large snake awaited him at the bottom of the pit.
In this case, the man with the shirt knew he wouldnt win. He instead pushed his opponent off the edge.
The man falling is probably going to think of a way to get out of the snake and get his revenge.
